NCP (SP) leader Sharad Pawar hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his continuous attacks on rivals without any mention of his government's achievements.
"Instead of talking about what the Central government did in the past ten years, he (Modi) keeps criticising others," Pawar said.
Addressing a campaign rally in Amravati for a Maha Vikas Aghadi candidate, Pawar accused Modi of trying to create fear in the country and emulating Russian President Vladamir Putin.
"We fear that a new Putin is in the making in India," he said.
Pawar added that he had gone to apologise to the people of Amravati for the "mistake" he had made in the 2019 elections by supporting BJP candidate Navneet Rana.
"In the last elections, I had sought the people's support and made an appeal (to elect Rana). People elected the candidate I backed. Time has come to correct that mistake," he said.
