Odisha assembly elections: BJP likely to dethrone Naveen Patnaik

The early trends coming from Odisha assembly election results showed the BJP comfortably ahead of Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD).

According to the Election Commission, the BJP was leading on 76 seats, while the BJD on 54 seats around noon. Congress remained a distant third as it led on just 12 seats.

The Lok Sabha election results from the state also showed a similar trend with the BJP leading on 18 of the 21 seats and the BJD leading on just two.
