UP Election 2022: 'Samajwadi Perfume' maker raided, Rs 150 crore found in cash

An almirah full of cash. An IT team busy counting wads of notes with four cash-counting machines. No, we are not talking about a scene from Money Heist. This is Kanpur and these are real IT raids.

Tax officials on Thursday raided Kanpur-based perfume trader Piyush Jain and reports said that IT officials recovered a whopping 150 crores of unaccounted wealth in cash.

Reports added that bundles of cash were found stuffed in cartons and wardrobes at Jain's house. Piyush Jain is close to SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and his brother is a Samajwadi Party leader.

Jain is the same person,who had recently launched Samajwadi Perfume, which was unveiled by Akhilesh Yadav.

Raids were also conducted at various offices of Jain across Mumbai, UP and Gujarat, reports said.

Jain hails from UP's Kannauj and has several companies and show rooms. He also reportedly have businesses in Middle East. Besides IT teams also raided the premises of betel trader KK Agarwal in Kanpur.
