UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday filed his nomination from Gorakhpur. The CM and top BJP leaders put up a grand show of strength ahead of Yogi's nomination.
This is the first time that Yogi is contesting assembly polls. He has won five straight Lok Sabha elections from Gorakhpur.
The chief minister prayed at the Gorakhnath temple and performed a havan before filing his nomination.
Home Minister Amit Shah and several BJP leaders accompanied him in a huge show of strength by the party in Yogi's stronghold.

Lavishing praises on the CM, Shah said that he has freed UP of the mafia raj and has done stellar work on development front.
Bhim Army chief and Dalit rights activist Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan is challenging Yogi Adityanath on his home turf.
