Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Azad on Saturday ruled out the possibility of an alliance between his party and the Samajwadi Party for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.
“I have had a lot of meetings with Akhilesh Yadav in the last 6 months. Meanwhile, positive things also happened but in the end I felt that Akhilesh Yadav does not need Dalits. He does not want Dalit leaders in this alliance. He wants Dalits to vote for him,” he said.
Earlier, Chandra Shekhar Azad said that his, Azad Samaj Party, will fight the state polls in alliance with the Samajwadi Party. He was also going to hold a joint press conference with Akhilesh Yadav at 12.30 pm on Saturday.
However, the police denied Aazad to hold the press conference in his Lucknow office in view of Covid-19 restrictions.
