The heated Uttar Pradesh elections have reached their penultimate stage with voting in 57 constituencies across 10 districts today.
Many high-profile leaders are seeking election in this phase, including incumbent Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. While Adityanath is contesting from Gorakhpur Urban, UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu is seeking election from Tamkuhi Raj.
Also in the fray is Swami Prasad Maurya, a former UP minister who switched from the BJP to the Samajwadi Party ahead of polls. Maurya is contesting from Fazilnagar.

In Gorakhpur, Yogi's opponents include wife of late BJP leader Upendra Dutt Shukla, and Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad.
The fates of many ministers in the incumbent BJP-led government are being sealed in the sixth phase. These reportedly included Surya Pratap Shahi from Pathardeva, Satish Chandra Dwivedi from Itwa, Jai Pratap Singh from Bansi, Shree Ram Chauhan from Khajani, and Jai Prakash Nishad from Rudrapur.
The districts going to polls include Ambedkarnagar, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, and Ballia.
676 candidates are reportedly in the fray in the 57 seats, and there are around 2.14 crore eligible voters.
Results will be announced on March 10.
