Hit by Harish Rawat tweet bomb, Congress has gone into damage control mode ahead of the Uttarakhand Assembly elections early next year.
Seen as Congress face for Uttarakhand CM, Harish Rawat set the cat among pegions with his twitter rant against Congress organisation in the state on Wednesday.
In a series of cryptic tweets he expressed his displeasure in the way the party unit is functioning and said the thought that maybe it's time for him to rest has crossed his mind.
On Thursday, when asked by reporters about his tweets, Rawat just asked all to "wait and have fun for now".
The party high command has gone in fire-fighting mode and has summoned Rawat, Congress legislature party leader Pritam Singh, state Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal, party leader Yashpal Arya to Delhi.
The Congress dissident group, called G23, has again taken potshots at the party over the state of affairs. One of the G23 members, Punjab MP Manish Tewari took a swipe at his party in aln all-caps tweet.
"First Assam, then Punjab, now Uttarakhand. Bhog poora hi paun gaye kasar na rahe jawe koi, meaning decimate the party, spare no efforts)," Tewari tweeted.
The Rawat storm has come close on the heels of the avalanche in the Punjab Congress, which ironically Harish Rawat was firefighting on behalf of the Gandhis.
