Emraan Hashmi, who celebrates his 46th birthday today, has addressed recent allegations made by his co-star Javed Sheikh regarding their interactions on the set of their film "Jannat."
In an interview with The Indian Express, Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh claimed that Emraan displayed rude behavior towards him during the production.
Responding to these claims, Emraan expressed his surprise and clarified that he doesn’t recall any incident that could have caused such a perception.
"It's bizarre!" he stated. "I was in my 20s then, and there was a significant age difference, so we were not exactly friends. I didn't hang out with him, but I don't remember any event like what he is describing."
Emraan further questioned the longevity of this perceived issue: "I don't know what Javed sahab took back with him, but it is definitely something he has held on to for 16-17 years.
For me, it's a comedy of errors that has escalated into something I'm completely unaware of."
Javed Sheikh shared his version of the events during a recent appearance in a Ramadan Transmission with Omer Shahzad and Arsala on Aaj Entertainment's YouTube channel.
He mentioned that while he had agreed to join the film at the request of Mahesh Bhatt, he had never met Emraan prior to signing the project.
Their first encounter occurred at Newlands Cricket Stadium in South Africa. "I tried to shake hands with him but noticed a very cold response from his side.
He shook hands dismissively and even turned his face away, which really irked me," Sheikh recalled. "Big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan respect me so much, call me Javed Ji, and this young guy has this attitude. What does he think of himself?"
Sheikh mentioned that this chilly interaction led him to avoid further engagement with Emraan during the shoot, stating that he refrained from speaking to him for the remainder of the filming process.
Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi was last seen in the Amazon Prime original film "Ae Watan Mere Watan." As this narrative unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the unforeseen dynamics and long-held perceptions that can arise within the entertainment industry.
