In his recent blog post, Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he didn't watch the India vs South Africa T20 World Cup final on June 29. The 'Kalki 2898 AD' also went on to share the reason behind it. He stated that whenever he watches a match, India loses. After India's monumental victory later, the veteran took to X to congratulate Rohit Sharma and Co. for lifting the trophy.

What Big B said

Despite being an ardent cricket fan, Amitabh Bachchan missed out on the history-scripting India vs South Africa match as he didn't want to jinx it. Reasoning it, the megastar mentioned that every time he watches a match, India loses. In his blog post, Big B wrote, "The excitement and emotions and the apprehension ALL DONE and over the TV were not seen. We lose when I do! Nothing more enters the cerebrum just the tears in tune with the tears of the TEAM ! (sic)."

His X post

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Big B also praised the men in blue and wrote, “T 5057 – Tears flowing down .. in unison with those that TEAM INDIA sheds .. WORLD CHAMPIONS INDIA. Bharat mata ki jai. Jai Hind. Jai Hind. Jai Hind.” His son, Abhishek Bachchan too, celebrated Team India's win.

Bollywood pours in congratulatory wishes

Indian Cricket Team's resounding victory against South Africa on Saturday reunited the entire country like nothing else, and Bollywood celebrities joined in the celebrations on social media. Anushka Sharma led the B-town brigade in posting congratulatory wishes as she poured her heart out in an emotional post. She also shared a separate post to laud her husband Virat Kohli who announced his retirement from the T20 format after his match-winning knock.

Among others who celebrated the big win included Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Ananya Panday, Madhuri Dixit, and Salman Khan.
