In a recent unfortunate event, Sonali Sood, wife of Bollywood actor and humanitarian Sonu Sood, was involved in a car accident on the Mumbai-Nagpur highway.
The incident occurred on Monday when the vehicle she was traveling in, along with her sister and nephew, collided with a truck.
Despite the severity of the accident, Sonali Sood is reported to be in stable condition and is currently under observation at Nagpur's MAX Hospital.
Her nephew also remains under observation, while her sister escaped with minor injuries and is considered out of danger.
Sonu Sood, who rushed to Nagpur upon hearing the news, expressed his relief that Sonali had a "miraculous escape," quoting, "She's doing fine now. Om Sai Ram.”
This isn't the first time Sonu Sood has been associated with road mishaps. Three years ago, in a heroic act, he rescued a 19-year-old boy from a crashed car in Moga, Punjab.
The actor risked his life to save the unconscious boy trapped by a central lock system, ensuring he received medical care promptly.
Sonu Sood has a history of humanitarian efforts, including his significant contributions during India's intense Covid-19 second wave.
On the professional front, Sonu Sood has recently ventured into direction with his debut film, "Fateh," which launched this year. The movie, set against cybercrime, stars Sood himself as an ex-special ops officer with a dark past.
Sonu describes the film as close to his heart and celebrated the opportunity to share it with Kolkata, a city with which he feels a strong connection due to personal ties and past work.
Reflecting on his ties with Kolkata, Sonu Sood shares, “The city of joy Kolkata has always been incredibly warm to me, and its warmth has only grown since my wife is also from here.”
He hopes the warmth and support from the city extend to his film "Fateh," much like the love he's received over the years.
The nostalgia of past shoots and the cultural essence of Kolkata make promoting his movie there deeply meaningful for the actor-turned-director.
