Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, in a recent interview, shared that she has a conventional mindset and cannot remain friendly with her exes.
She stated she wouldn't divorce a partner and then stay on friendly terms or frequently see them.
Her comments about divorce led some netizens to speculate if she was subtly criticizing Hrithik Roshan, who maintains a friendly relationship with his ex-wife, Sussanne Khan.
Kangana told Mashable India, ‘I’m not that type. I never stay in touch with exes. I’m very conventional. I’m not someone who, after a divorce, says, ‘Hello darling, you’re here, I miss you.’ If you’re going to do that, then why get a divorce in the first place?’
For those unfamiliar, Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan were once rumoured to be dating. Kangana even claimed that she went on a holiday in Paris with Hrithik, although the actor denied these allegations. After working together in Krrish 2, the two filed complaints against each other. Despite Hrithik's consistent denials, Kangana maintained that they were in a relationship.
Currently, Hrithik Roshan is dating Saba Azad and remains on friendly terms with his ex-wife Sussanne Khan, who is also the mother of his two sons. Hrithik and Saba are often seen with Sussanne and her new partner, Arslaan Goni, and the four frequently speak fondly of each other.
In another interview, Kangana, who has been in the industry for nearly 18 years, revealed that she despises acting but has deep love for directing.
When asked whether acting or filmmaking is more challenging, Kangana told IANS, ‘No, acting is not daunting at all… For me, acting feels too passive.’
She expressed her strong dislike for acting, saying, ‘I just hate being an actor with such intensity. You arrive on set, always wondering what’s happening, which scene you're doing. You’re constantly questioning what’s going on with your life, and it feels like so much time is wasted. Even as the main lead, you’re told to wait… I hate it.’
Kangana stated she is passionate about directing.
‘I love being a director. When asked what’s going on, I know the answer. I believe I’m a better director who understands the vulnerability of actors. Actors are my favorite people on set, and I enjoy guiding them,’ she added.
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is preparing for the release of Emergency, in which she not only stars as Indira Gandhi but also directs. Emergency is set to hit theatres on September 6.
