Megastar Aamir Khan, who is known for releasing his films during this festive period, is targeting the Christmas 2024 box office.

The actor has confirmed that his comeback film, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ will hit theatres on Christmas this year. Reports suggest that filming will commence in Delhi in May, and the movie will focus on the Paralympic Games.

A source close to the production house informed the Hindustan Times, ‘Aamir Khan will fly down to Delhi next month for Sitare Zameen Par’s shoot. He will come to the capital with around 11 children for the shoot of his film. There will also be other star cast members, whose details are not out yet.’

The source also disclosed that the shoot would span one month, taking place between May and June. They stated, ‘The children will participate in various Paralympic games for the shoot.’

Regarding the shooting locations, the source added, ‘The film will be shot at different locations in Delhi, including Lal Qila, Lodhi Garden, Purani Dilli, and Tyagraj Stadium. It is being filmed in various parts of Delhi to avoid having all the kids travel to NCR regions.’

About ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’

‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ will be Aamir's first Christmas release in eight years. His last Christmas release was the blockbuster film ‘Dangal’ in 2016. This film will also mark his comeback after taking a break following the lackluster performance of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha.’

Earlier, speaking with TV9 during their conclave, Aamir said, ‘My next film as a lead actor, which has just begun filming, is Sitaare Zameen Par. We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. It is an entertaining film, and I like the story. The shooting of the film has begun.’

‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ also stars Genelia Deshmukh in the lead. This marks Genelia and Aamir’s first film together.
