After a long and tumultuous journey through legal proceedings and media scrutiny, Rhea Chakraborty has made her first public appearance since the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) submitted a closure report on March 22, 2025.

The report, filed nearly five years after the tragic death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, rules the incident as a "suicide" and clears Rhea and her family of all allegations.

In a widely circulated video, Rhea is seen visiting the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai, accompanied by her family. During her interaction with the paparazzi, she expressed her gratitude with the devotional exclamation, "Ganpati Bappa Morya."

Following the clean chit from the CBI, Rhea took to Instagram to connect with her followers. She posted a series of photos from her stint on the reality show "Roadies Double XX." Clad in a stylish brown leather outfit, she posed alongside fellow team leaders Rannvijay Singha, Neha Dhupia, and Elvish Yadav.

Rhea's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, released a statement expressing gratitude towards the CBI for their meticulous investigation.

He emphasized the ordeal Rhea endured due to false narratives propagated on social and electronic media, highlighting that she unjustly spent 27 days in jail.

The CBI's closure report has been submitted to a special court in Mumbai, which will determine the next course of action, whether to accept the report or call for additional investigation.

The report exonerates all individuals named in the two FIRs related to the case, including Rhea, her parents, and her brother.

Sushant Singh Rajput was tragically found dead at the age of 34 in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020.

The investigation was transferred to the CBI from Bihar Police following a complaint by the actor's father in Patna, alleging abetment to suicide.

As part of their thorough probe, the CBI recorded testimonies from Rhea and others close to the actor and reviewed his medical records.

In a crucial development, forensic experts at AIIMS provided the CBI with a conclusive medico-legal opinion, dismissing any allegations of "poisoning and strangling," reinforcing the ruling of suicide in the case.
