It looks like the box office is once again getting severely affected due to a surge in the number of Covid-19 cases across the country.

The wait for SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR will be longer as the makers of the film have deferred the release of the film owing to the rise of Covid-19 restrictions in the country.

The film which stars Ram Charn and Jr NTR and also has special appearances by Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn was scheduled to hit the theatres on January 7, 2022.

The announcement was made today on the official handles of the film. The makers wrote, "Keeping the best interests of all the involved parties in mind, we are forced to postpone our film. Our sincere thanks to all the fans and audience for their unconditional love."

The makers will be announcing a new release date after assessing the current COVID-19 situation.

Jersey, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in the lead is another film which has been delayed. It was supposed to release on December 31, 2021, but the makers decided to postpone the film.
