Eating the right food is important for our health but eating them at the right time is just as important! For example, did you know that there are some foods that should never be eaten on an empty stomach? Eating these seemingly harmless foods on an empty stomach can actually cause issues within the body.

Here are a few such foods to keep in mind before you reach for your early morning snack.

SPICY FOOD

Having really spicy food on an empty stomach is a big no-no. The spices can upset your stomach, spoil the digestion process and even cause cramping.

TEA/COFFEE

This is one of the most common things that a majority of the people get wrong. You should never have tea or coffee on an empty stomach. Both these beverages can interfere with the good bacteria in your gut, disrupt your metabolism and lead to bloating.

CURD

While curd is great for your health, it can actually be harmful on an empty stomach. Having dahi first thing in the morning makes the lactic acid bacteria present in yogurt ineffective due to the high acidity of stomach acid.

BANANA

Many of us start the morning with a banana before our workout. But eating bananas on an empty stomach increases the amount of magnesium in the body. This leads to an imbalance of potassium and magnesium in the body which may aggravate cardiovascular problems.

SODA

While soda is something you should avoid at all times, it definitely should not be had on an empty stomach. The high amounts of carbonated acid can cause nausea and vomiting and make you feel extremely uncomfortable.

There is nothing wrong with eating these foods but just remember to not eat them on an empty stomach!
