Tea is the drink of the Indian people; atleast most of us love our good ol' chai. But what if we tell you that your tea leaves may be adulterated with other exhausted dried leaves. Food Safety and Standard Authority of India has released a video to test the purity of your tea leaves to ensure you buy the right product to consume. 

This step-by-step procedure, released by the FSSAI, will help you do the adulteration test of tea leaves at home.

  • Take a paper filter
  • Spread out the tea leaves on the paper filter
  • Wash the filter paper under tap water
  • Now observe the stains on the filter paper against light

Pure tea leaves will not leave any stain on the filter paper. Adulterated ones, on the other hand, will leave black and brown stain on it. Try this simple hack to ensure you always sip on a quality cup of chai!
