Haryana MLA apologises after spat with farmers lead to protests

BKU leader Rakesh Tikait led scores of farmers on a protest march to the Tohana Police Station on Sunday.

The farmers gathered in protest against Haryana MLA Devendra Singh Babli's controversial remarks and demanded release of those who have been arrested.

Tohana MLA Devendra S Babli had used abusive & inappropriate language during spat with farmers on June 1. Later, FIR was lodged against farmers leading to several arrests.

Babli later apologized for his remark.  His apology came after hundreds of farmers  led by top leaders marched to the Tohana Police Station under the banner of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha.

Tikait said the ‘farmers' committee is negotiating with the MLA and will take further decisions’
