Chief Secretary Radha Raturi inaugurated the Uttarakhand Entrepreneur Conclave, organized by the Industries Department in Dehradun. She highlighted the importance of increasing women’s participation in the workforce and praised the department for the steady growth of MSME contributions to the State’s GDP.
Discussing the Global Investors Summit, she stated that Uttarakhand offers a favorable industrial environment. She informed that out of the MoUs worth three lakh crore signed during the summit, projects worth ninety thousand crore have already been implemented. She recognized the strategic investment plan as a benchmark for the State and appreciated initiatives like U-Hub Investor Mitra and the Transport Subsidy.
Raturi urged the department to list small-scale industries to attract global investments. She noted that Uttarakhand is ranked among the top achievers in Ease of Doing Business by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. The state is also in the leader category for startup rankings and holds the top position among Himalayan states in exports. Experts at the conclave discussed sustainable development and ways to enhance the competitiveness of small industries by leveraging Uttarakhand’s geographical advantages.
The event also marked the launch of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme in the State, along with a workshop. Raturi mentioned that this World Bank-funded initiative aims to improve MSME performance and boost product competitiveness on a global scale. Uttarakhand has received a budget allocation of Rs 100 crore under RAMP.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, MSME Ministry Director Vinamra Mishra, officials from the Industries Department, and representatives from the central government.
