JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy expressed his disappointment over the party's performance in the Hassan seat, where his nephew Prajwal Revanna, who is embroiled in the sexual abuse allegations case, is contesting.

According to the early estimates of the Election Commission,  Revanna is trailing by over 43,000 votes. His rival and Congress candidate Shreyas Patel is currently leading.

Speaking to the reporters, Kumaraswamy said, "JD(S) got the results that we had expected. But I am not happy about the results in Hassan. Overall, in Karnataka, we would have won another 4-5 seats but because of our mistakes, we lost more than 4-5 seats...People have shown Congress that JD(S) is still alive in Karnataka."

The JD(S) is currently leading in two seats—Hassan and Kolar.
