Known for speaking his mind even at the cost of facing social media trolls, actor Naseeruddin Shah believes that the mood on-screen only reflects ground reality.
In an interview with The Indian Express, Shah said that 'Muslim hating has become fashionable even among educated people' and added that the BJP is 'cleverly tapping' into this sentiment to get votes.
The veteran actor also had strong words for the Election Commission. He said that the poll panel is spineless and called it a mute spectator.
Talking about politicians seeking votes in the name of religion, Shah said that if a Muslim leader urged people to vote in the name of Allah, there would be 'utter devastation'.
He, however, sees hope. Shah said that Prime Minister Modi loses in spite of playing the divisive card and that gives him hope that the hate will one-day wear-off
