Eight chief ministers are skipping the ongoing governing council meeting of NITI Aayog in the national capital today, according to media reports.
The meeting is chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is also the head of NITI Aayog.
Arvind Kejriwal of Delhi, Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, Bhagwant Mann of Punjab, Nitish Kumar of Bihar, K Chandrashekar Rao of Telangana, MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu, Ashok Gehlot Rajathan and Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala are not present at the meeting which is expected to discuss the road map for a 'Viksit Bharat'.
The decision to not attend the meeting comes at a time when 21 Opposition parties have chosen to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28.
