The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is observed on November 25, every year. The day aims at preventing and eliminating the instances of violence in all forms that women are subjected to around the world. This year's theme is Orange the World: End Violence against Women Now!

The World Health Organisation estimates that about one in every three women in the world suffers from physical or sexual violence. And the instances of domestic violence have increased significantly after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like every year, a 16-day campaign will be launched on the occasion starting November 25 and will conclude on December 10, which is observed as International Human Rights Day.
