9 matches, 128 runs, 2 golden ducks. That's Virat Kohli's haul from IPL 2022 so far as the former India captain continues to struggle for runs. After an unbelievably long purple patch, Virat Kohli's poor run has been bothering all cricket fans and experts alike for close to 3 years now. After asking Virat Kohli to take a break from cricket, former India head coach Ravi Shastri has now made another big statement.

Shastri feels that Virat should skip the IPL, the most lucrative cricket league in the world in search of some rest and time away from cricket. Shastri while speaking to cricket host Jatin Sapru said, "If you want to play and do well for India, you have to draw the line where you want to take that break and the ideal break would be off-season where India is not playing and the only time India does not play in the IPL. Sometimes, you need to do that or tell the franchise I'll only play the half. Pay me half, as simple as that. Those tough calls need to come if you want to reach the zenith of your profession as an international player."

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli's franchise continued to back him even after morale crushing loss to Rajasthan Royals. Batting Coach Sanjay Bangar said, "Virat is a legend, he has seen plenty of ups and downs in his career. He will improve further and emerge stronger from the string of low scores."

After relinquishing the captaincy duties, many expected Virat Kohli to shine once again for not just RCB but also Team India but his poor show continues which is leaving fans and cricket experts quite disappointed and worried.
