According to a new study, led by Rutgers University, women mostly do not focus on orgasm due to time constraint or to put their partner’s pleasure as priority. According to the study, published in the Journal of Sex Research, women use cues and adjust their pursuit of an orgasm in each sexual encounter.
Reasearchers say there are contextual, societal and personal factors that mostly prevent women from feeling the urge to pursue orgasm. Whereas men tend to orgasm more often than women in heterosexual partnerships, which is called ‘orgasm gap’.
They recommend men to create sexually stimulating environment and support their partners. Having a conversation might influence a woman’s mindset to orgasm, the study concluded.
