Many dating trends have emerged in the past and one that has recently been in the spotlight is ‘dawn dating.’Thankfully, this one has nothing to do with ghosting, breadcrumbing or cushioning.
As the name suggests, dawn dating refers to the act of going on a date in the morning. It's a simple concept that consists of replacing evenings at bars with romantic mornings.
The term was coined by the dating app Badoo after seeing a considerable rise in morning dates among singles. The idea of morning dates signifies a change in attitudes towards dating and is cost-effective too.
A survey done by Badoo, on 1,000 dating app users found that 51% have already been on a morning date and 71% said they’d be impressed if someone asked them out in the morning. It also suggested that more people are interested in walks, runs and
coffees instead of splashing the cash at bars and restaurants.
So, don't be surprised if one of your potential dates proposes a coffee meet-up in the morning instead of cocktails over candlelight.
