Weddings are meant to be the greatest day in a person’s life. However, while people indulge in excitement and joy, they tend to forget the cause and effect that a big fat wedding can have. Some easy tips for a sustainable wedding include:
Don’t use plastic
Plastics act as the catalysts to global warming, with being dumped in large masses all over the place, they not only pollute the environment but also take a toll on human and animal lives. To avoid the usage of plastics in your wedding, switch to glass water bottles or copper as they give off a more luxurious look than plastic water bottles. They are also reusable so glass and copper will be the wiser option than plastics. While bottles are switched, plastic cutleries can also be avoided to ceramic to be more sustainable.
No flex
While covering the wedding venue with flex has been the tradition for years, we believe it is more suitable for corporate events than weddings. And are they sustainable is another concern that emerges. Replace flex with fabrics like silk, satin, soft cotton, or chiffon that are not only sustainable but also uplift the decor more elegantly. Using these fabrics in table cloths, napkins, and chair covers gives the venue a luxurious look.
Use Led lights
A wedding avenue usually has a lot of lights, the structure is usually fully covered and glows with energy to enhance the mood of the event. Lights can be decorated in countless ways, including string lights, ceiling lights, lanterns, spotlights, and the list goes on. To set up a light decor we would suggest using LED lights rather than any others as LED lights are highly energy-efficient and also produces less heat while being used. This way you can sustainably save energy and money.

Go local
The use of local vendors and materials for your wedding decor is not only sustainable but also budget-friendly. Instead of moving materials from one end to another, exploring your destination will give you exposure to different craftsmanship, and in another way including the authenticity of your destination will make your wedding more lively. The locally grown flowers and the recyclable decor made by the local artisans are some of the ways to incorporate the local element that in turn reduces the overall carbon footprint of the wedding.
Gifting that grows
To be more sustainable and eco-friendly, gifting plants and succulents that will grow would make the best gifting option. They don’t just lay around like other souvenirs, rather they grow in front of the beholder’s eyes which will keep them reminded of the donor.
