World Environment Day is observed every year on June 5th. On this day, a scientific research has come to light, which claims that humans have used 7 out of 9 safe limits for life on Earth.

Notably, the 9 safe limits for life on Earth are: biosphere integrity, land-system change, freshwater use, biogeochemical flows, ocean acidification, atmospheric aerosol pollution, stratospheric ozone depletion, and release of novel chemicals.

Scientists found that 7 of the thresholds including climate change, biodiversity, land-system change, and biogeochemical flows, have been overused.

This study was done by a team of more than 40 international scientists and it was published in the journal Nature.
