Bottega Veneta's Spring/Summer 2024 collection has set a new standard for oversized accessories, courtesy of their ingenious creative director, Matthieu Blazy, who possesses an extraordinary talent for working with leather. Blazy's creations for "New Bottega" have pushed the boundaries of leather craftsmanship.
However, what truly stole the spotlight on the label's Spring 2024 runway was perhaps the most unpretentious yet breathtaking offering Blazy could present: massive leather tote bags. When we say "oversize," we're actually understating the sheer scale of what Blazy unveiled.
Among the striking designs were arched top-handle totes, casually housing loose shirts and newspapers (crafted from leather, of course) that nonchalantly peeked out from their sides. Then there were the enormous intrecciato bags elegantly draped over the models' shoulders. Some of the bags even magnified iconic New Bottega silhouettes, like a colossal rendition of the 'Sardine Bag,' complete with its whimsical fish-shaped wooden handle. These bags may have been colossal in size, but they certainly didn't burden the looks they accompanied.
Bottega Veneta's Spring/Summer 2024 collection has redefined the concept of oversized fashion accessories, demonstrating that even massive bags can seamlessly blend into the world of high fashion.
