Deepika Padukone delighted her fans at the opening ceremony of the 75th Cannes Film Festival as she graced the red carpet in a gorgeous sequin saree by ace designer Sabyasachi. The actor exuded retro vibes as she complimented her look with statement pieces from Sabyasachi Jewellery's Bengal Royale Collection. She also donned a headband that paid homage to the traditional Indian matha patti headpiece.
Sharing a series of pictures on Instagram, the 'Piku' actor wrote, 'The sari is a story I will never stop telling.No matter where we are in the world, it has its place" said Sabyasachi Mukherjee…and I couldn't agree more!

Sabyasachi shared the details of Deepika's saree with a series of photos, captioned: 'Featuring the Bengal Tiger couture sari conceptualised by Sabyasachi as part of the iconic Aakash Tara collection that celebrates heritage Indian crafts and techniques through a modern lens. The stripes have been block printed and hand embroidered by some of India's finest craftspeople at the Sabyasachi atelier.'
Earlier during the day, the actor wore a printed shirt and a pair of green trousers by Sabyasachi. She paired her look with a jewel-toned necklace from his Tropic of Calcutta collection and a matching headband.
Shaleena Nathani has styled the 'Padmaavat' actor. Deepika is a part of the Cannes jury this year.

On May 16, Deepika attended the jury dinner at Grand Hyatt Cannes Hotel Martinez in a sequined Louis Vuitton dress. She is the first-ever Indian brand ambassador for the French luxury house.
