Celebrity dermatologist Jaishree Sharad shared a post on sunscreen pilling, a common phenomenon when sunscreen ingredients fail to absorb into the skin, forming tiny clumps on the skin's surface. Certain ingredients like silicon or poorly formulated UV filters can contribute to sunscreen pilling.
So, Sharad recommends cleansing and moisturizing the skin before applying sunscreen. And, if you're layering skin with two serums and a moisturizer before sunscreen, ensure the sunscreen is lightweight. Also, using oil-based serums or creams before sunscreen application can reduce sliding off the skin and pilling.
