After a series of creative and groundbreaking achievements last year, fashion designer Gaurav Gupta has now grabbed eyeballs at the Paris Haute Couture Week.
This time the designer played with new colours and shapes, building on the sculptural design language. For the spring collection 2024, the designer focused on more formfitting silhouettes that are elevated by different embellishments and techniques like metal plating for the breastplate.
The title of his spring collection is 'Aarohanam' which means a deep spiritual significance marking the journey of a being from the gross to the subtle, from solid to sublime, from darkness to light.
The 'Aarohanam' essence reflects the profound qualities of kundalini energy, portraying its unfolding ascent through a graceful dance of snakes in the brand's infinity symbol. The collection evolves from dark blacks to radiant whites, symbolizing a journey from darkness to light, with flame orange representing inner desire and levitation towards an invisible power. Described as sharper, more edited, stronger, and mature, the collection showcases crystal and silver embroidery reminiscent of glass, symbolizing creatures acknowledging the presence of illuminating light.
