'Balenciaga is a social experiment,' 'This is a performance and not merchandise!' That's how people are reacting after the high-end luxury brand launched its shoelace earrings.
The luxury fashion brand truly thought outside the shoe box with this one. The earrings are just shoelaces tied in a bow and cost $162 or Rs 15,315.
The shoelace earrings highlight Demna Gvasalia's (creative director of Balenciaga) ability to incorporate everyday objects into the house’s jewelry collection.
However, this is not the first time that Balenciaga has made headlines for its outrageous fashion. The brand has previously charged $110 for a reusable coffee cup and $650 for metal coasters. A few months back, the brand was also called out for pricing Trash Bag pouches for a whopping $1,790.
