The Ambani-Merchant wedding ceremony has begun with the mameru ceremony in Mumbai. The mameru ceremony is a traditional ceremony in Gujaratis where the maternal uncle aka Mama gives the bride-to-be many gifts.

For the traditional event, Isha and Shloka picked gorgeous outfits for the ceremony.

Isha picked the traditional textile art of bandhani, known for its unique patterns and vibrant colours. The stunning orange outfit features an enchanting bandhani pattern and intricate silver crystal embellishment. She wore a matching waist belt and ruffled detailing at the bottom.

The attire is from the house of Arpita Mehta.

Badi bahu Shloka on the other hand picked a pink and orange salwar suit featuring heavy golden embellishments. In a diamond necklace with diamond drop earrings, Shloka looked gorgeous in her desi avatar.

What is Mameru ceremony?

Mameru ceremony is a part of Gujarati culture where the bride’s maternal uncle gives wedding gifts to her. Mameru refers to the maternal uncle in Gujarati. Many from the Ambani-Merchant clan attended the event.
