Actor Roshni Chopra recently shared a simple rule for using sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays.

She advises applying sunscreen equivalent to 2-3 fingers about 20 minutes before heading out in the sun. Make sure to cover your neck and any exposed skin areas. Don't forget to reapply sunscreen every 2-3 hours, and also use a lip balm with SPF to protect your lips.

Benefits of using sunscreen

Protection from UV Rays: Sunscreen provides a protective barrier against harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. UV rays can lead to sunburn, premature aging, and an increased risk of skin cancer.
Skin Cancer Prevention:
Regular sunscreen use reduces the risk of developing skin cancers like melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and basal cell carcinoma. It's one of the most effective ways to prevent skin cancer.
Prevents Sunburn:
Sunburn not only causes short-term discomfort but also damages the skin, making it more susceptible to long-term effects like wrinkles and age spots. Sunscreen helps prevent sunburn.
Reduces Skin Aging:
UV rays can accelerate the ageing process, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots. Sunscreen protects your skin from these signs of premature ageing.
Maintains Skin Health:
Sunscreen helps maintain your skin's overall health by preventing damage from UV exposure. Healthy skin not only looks better but also functions more effectively as a barrier against infections and environmental stressors.
