Another day, another skincare trend to add to your routine! This time it's 'moisture sandwiching'. But, what does it involve and does it actually work? The clue is in the name, keep watching to know more!
Based on the three-second rule, moisture sandwiching is a process where you apply your skin care products just three seconds after washing your face with no drying in between. This ensures your skin is still wet when you apply serums and moisturisers.
First, wash your face with the same old tap water. Now, on damp skin, apply a humectant-based serum (like hyaluronic acid) followed by a hydrating mist and then a moisturiser. And done, it's simpler than you thought.
According to experts, applying light and hydrating products on damp skin after cleansing or exfoliating seals in moisture and absorbs the actives which in turn leads to prolonged hydration. Moisture sandwiching works best for people with dry skin.
Pro tip: Avoid moisture sandwiching with retinol products or anything that irritates your skin.
