The festive and wedding season is around the corner, and we're all excited to get decked up in our new clothes and jewellery.
However, there's no doubt that wearing heavy jhumkas looks beautiful but can lead to earlobe pain and stretching.
To tackle this problem, Dermatologist Manasi Shirolikar shares some tips for wearing heavy earrings.
She suggests attaching ear chains with your earrings that can distribute the weight of the earring. Using lobe patches is also a great idea; these are applied to the back of the ear and provide support, alleviating the weight of heavy earrings. Lastly, she advises taking intermittent breaks from wearing heavy earrings.
She also underscores the significance of pain as a vital signal from our body. Pain serves as an alert for problems such as earring tightness or incorrect placement, which could potentially result in tissue damage, bleeding, or tearing.
Suppressing this pain might create a misleading sense of security, ultimately leading to undetected harm and more severe complications. Additionally, numbing creams can obscure allergic reactions to earring metals.
