Sunscreen is a huge part of our daily life, and everyone must include it in their skincare regime. But sometimes we tend to think that if it’s cloudy or raining we do not need to apply sunblock. Let us discuss this concern and tell you whether you should apply sunscreen on a cloudy day or when you are indoors or not.
Even if it is cloudy outside or raining, 80% of UV rays can still penetrate through the clouds and reach our skin according to the World Health Organisation. So, it is always recommended to apply your SPF irrespective of the weather or season.
When we are indoors, be it at home or workplace, the doors and windows do not generally have UV protective films, so it’s recommended to put sunscreen to protect the exposed skin from the rays passing through glass. It’s equally important when we are traveling by car.
Even though the effect of the UV rays is comparatively less during these times of the day, skin experts advise to wear sunblock anytime whenever there is daylight to protect the skin from ageing effects and skin cancer.
