Winter's brisk embrace may provoke tear ducts, causing teary eyes and mild irritation, as chilly winds brush against delicate lashes. Well, teary can be a dampener in ruining your make up. This TikTok hack can be a big saviour.
Beauty influencer Ayaat Mishaal revealed this beauty hack on TikTok. Mishaal said putting vaseline on the corners of your eyes can prevent your eyes from watering. Her tip is receiving applaud from fellow tiktokers who have tried the hack and are quite happy with results. Ayaat Mishaal’s 9 second video has garnered 6 million views till now and counting.
However, according to experts applying vaseline on the corner of the eyes may not be as helpful. One can instead try a doctor recommended eye drop to prevent teary eyes during the winters.
"In winter, our eyes can get drier. Using eye drops that add moisture can be helpful and might stop eyes from becoming watery in the first place," explained Dr. Alexa Hecht, an optometrist in Toronto while speaking with The Post.
The doctor also added, "The skin around your eyes is very thin. Putting a thick ointment like Vaseline there can make small bumps called milia more likely to appear."
According to experts using a thick product like vaseline may also cause clogging of the meibomian glands of the eye lids.
