We have all listened to stories from our moms and grandmoms about how they always used to use coconut oil for better skin and hair. But in this era of fancy products and modern serums etc., usage of coconut oil might seem backdated.

However, many Bollywood actors do rely upon coconut oil for their skin and hair. Many a times, actors like Malaika Arora, Kangana Ranaut and Neha Dhupia have talked about using natural things from their homes for their skin including coconut oil. This world coconut day (celebrated on September 2), let us tell you three amazing ways you can incorporate coconut oil in your lifestyle for better skin and hair health. Take notes!

For repairing dry skin:

Mix 1 teaspoon of coconut oil with some plain oatmeal to make a paste. Put it on your face and wait for 15 minutes. Then, wash it off with lukewarm water. After that, you can put on a light cream or gel.

To get rid of blackheads:

Mix 2 spoons of coconut oil with a spoonful of baking soda and a few drops of lemon juice. Mix them together and put it on the areas of your face where you usually get blackheads. Wait for 10 minutes and then wash it off. Your face will look cleaner and brighter.

To heal sunburn and tanning:

Just put raw coconut oil on the parts of your skin that got sunburned. Do this regularly to make your skin feel better.

So, the next time someone older gives you a tip about taking care of your skin, you should try it right away. You might even end up showing off your beautiful and glowing skin!
