Alcohol food alert! Know what to eat and avoid while drinking

Even though we all know that no amount of alcohol is safe for our bodies, keeping your body hydrated and eating right amount of food is important while consuming it.

Foods to eat

  • Peanuts with alcohol is not only a perfect combination, but they are also high in fat which slows down the absorption of alcohol
  • Fruits such as bananas and apples contain high amount of water which dilutes the alcohol and helps reduce inflammation of the intestine.
  • Any food which is high in protein works well to slow alcohol consumption and makes you feel full.

Foods to avoid

  • Chocolates, caffeine and cocoa should be avoided as they can cause gastro-related issues.
  • Eating pizza with alcohol is not a great option and can cause stomach ache.
  • Avoid French fries and cheesy nachos as they are high in sodium which is bad for our digestive system.
