Alia Bhatt is a foodie and loves trying out various recipes. Be it her beetroot raita or a lauki kheer, Alia loves variety in her dishes. Her lauki (bottle gourd) kheer recipe is easy to make and super yummy. Here is how you can replicate it at home.
Ingredients
1 ½ teaspoon ghee
½ cup grated bottle gourd
1 ½ cup milk
8 dates
¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
1 teaspoon almonds
1 teaspoon cashew nuts
1 teaspoon raisins
First, cut the lauki and separate its seeds to make a bottle gourd kheer. Next, grate it and fry it in a heated pan with ghee. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Now add milk to it and cook it again for five minutes.
While it gets cooked, soak the seedless dates in milk in a small bowl for half an hour.
Now grind the dates in a mixer. Put this paste in the mixture of lauki and milk and add cardamom powder to it.
Now, lightly fry cashews, almonds and raisins in a small pan with 1 teaspoon of ghee. Garnish the kheer with nuts and enjoy cold or hot!
