Actor Ananya Panday recently tried mango sticky rice for the very first time and she just can't stop herself appreciating it.
Mango sticky rice is a popular Southeast Asian dessert combining sweet, glutinous rice with rich coconut milk and fresh mango slices. This delightful treat is often garnished with a coconut sauce, black sesame seeds, and moong dal for added texture and flavour. Perfectly balancing sweetness and creaminess, it’s a must-try for any dessert lover.
Sharing the post the actor wrote- “Guys don’t overreact but I’ve never had mango sticky rice before and I just had it and??? Was I living under a rock?? Wow???”
Sticky Rice (glutinous rice) - 1 cup
Coconut Milk - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
Condensed Milk - 2 tablespoons
Kewra Water - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Fresh Mangoes - 2, sliced
Black Sesame Seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
Moong Dal - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
To make this Southeast Asian dessert, soak rice in hot water for 15 minutes, strain it and put it in a saucepan, now add coconut milk, water, salt and cook for 10 minutes. Add, condensed milk with kewra water and mix it well. Now, add more coconut milk and condensed milk for sweetness. Put the sticky rice in a bowl and refrigerate for 5 minutes.
Now place rice and mango slices on a banana leaf and garnish with coconut condensed milk sauce, black sesame seeds, some moong dal and enjoy!
