Curd acts as a great probiotic and helps in digestion. It is a quintessential side dish loved by many. But experts advise to not consume it at night. Ayurvedic expert Dixa Bhavsar Savaliya has shared a post on Instagram explaining why.

According to her curd is sour in taste, hot in nature and heavy to digest and therefore, according to Ayurveda, it increases weight, improves strength and digestive power.

However, it should be avoided at night because metabolism is low at night as compared to day and becomes difficult to digest. It may also lead to mucous formation causing diabetes, weight gain, and cholesterol issues. Hence, she advises to switch to buttermilk at night which is easier to digest.
