Lemons are nature's gift and have multiple uses. However, most of us do not use lemons' full potential. If you have been throwing away lemons after using them, think again. From acting as a disinfectant to natural cleaner, reuse your lemons and thank us later!

5 Ways to reuse lemons

1. Great cleaners

Lemons are great for cleaning purposes thanks to their natural acidity and antibacterial properties. The high acidity of lemon juice makes it a powerful degreaser and stain remover. Do not throw away used lemons, instead use them for cleaning your cutting boards.

2. Lemon zest

Grate the outer peel of squeezed lemons to obtain lemon zest. This can be used for flavouring desserts and bakery items.

3. Lemon disinfectant

Combine leftover squeezed lemon with natural cleaning agents like baking soda or vinegar to make the perfect potent cleaning agent. The fresh citrus smell leaves a lasting aroma in your home.

4. Make a lemon lamp

Use the squeezed lemon cups as a base, add cloves, oil, and camphor powder, place a candle wick, and light it up. This DIY lamp keeps away mosquitoes and flies. It also leaves a lasting aroma.

5. Garbage disposal freshener

Place squeezed lemon halves into the garbage disposal and activate it while running cold water. This will effectively clean and deodorize the disposal, imparting a refreshing citrus fragrance.
