In various regions across India, unique sabzi specialties are crafted using local spices and ingredients, typically focusing on vegetables. However, a rather intriguing twist emerged when a video surfaced on X, showcasing the creation of "apple sabzi". Since its recent posting, the video has stirred quite a buzz on the platform. The name and preparation method of this unconventional dish has piqued the curiosity of viewers online.
The video, shared by @MFuturewala, features a woman deep frying apples in a kadhai. After removing them from the vessel, she proceeds to combine crushed peanuts, various spices, a type of flour, and some of the frying oil. Once this mixture is prepared, she meticulously removes the cores from the deep-fried apples and proceeds to stuff them with the prepared mixture.
In a separate kadhai, she heats oil and allows some seeds to splutter. Chopped onions, tomatoes, and an array of spices are added, creating a flavorful mixture. After thorough sautéing, the stuffed apples find their way into the kadhai. The remaining peanut mixture from earlier is also incorporated. The ingredients are carefully combined, followed by the addition of water to let the sabzi cook to perfection. The dish is served with bread slices and green peppers on the side.
The X post has garnered an impressive 323K views and sparked a range of reactions. While some express intrigue, others find the concept bizarre.
