Korean noodles have been in the news after Denmark declared that it has banned 3 varieties of noodles. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration said on Tuesday that it had recalled the noodles produced by Samyang Foods because their capsicum levels are “so high that they pose a risk of the consumer developing acute poisoning”.
According to a report, three noodles, Buldak 3x Spicy & Hot Chicken, 2x Spicy & Hot Chicken and Hot Chicken Stew varieties of instant ramen noodles have been banned in Denmark.

Causes gastric irritation
Capsaicin, the active component in chilli peppers, can irritate the stomach lining, leading to gastritis or an upset stomach.
Can cause heartburn and acidity
Spicy foods can trigger heartburn or worsen acid reflux symptoms by relaxing the lower oesophagal sphincter, allowing stomach acid to flow back into the oesophagus.
Can cause stomach issues and IBS
Spicy foods can increase symptoms of IBS, leading to increased abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel habits.
Can cause ulcers
While not directly causing ulcers, excessive consumption of spicy foods can worsen existing ulcers or increase the risk of developing them in individuals with a predisposition.
Dehydration
Eating too much spicy food makes you thirsty for water. Too spicy things also cause dehydration. Avoid eating spicy food, especially during the summer season.
