Ingredients:

2 green chilies
Optional: 4-6 garlic cloves
2 small pieces of ginger
Salt to taste
1/8 tsp of turmeric powder
1/4 tsp of red chili powder
1/2 tsp of cumin
1/4 tsp of mustard seeds
2 handfuls of coriander leaves
Optional: 1 handful of mint leaves
400 ml of curd
1 English cucumber (grated)

Here’s how to prepare Pahadi Kheera Raita:

  • Take green chilies, garlic cloves, ginger, cumin, and mustard seeds and gently crush them.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves, salt, turmeric powder, and red chili powder
  • Continue to blend the mixture until it reaches a coarse chutney-like consistency
  • Transfer the chutney to a separate bowl and set it aside
  • Peel and grate the cucumber. Combine the grated cucumber with the curd and mix thoroughly
  • Finally, blend the prepared chutney with the curd and cucumber mixture. Ensure all flavors are well incorporated.
  • Your delightful Pahadi Kheera Raita is now ready to serve.
