Potatoes and tomatoes are go-to vegetables in every Indian kitchen but have you heard about pomato?

A viral video on social media shows an agricultural enthusiast growing both the vegetables on the same plant by grafting potato and tomato plants which double harvests juicy tomatoes on the vine and potatoes grow underground from the same plant.

This has sparked a debate among netizens. While some are praising this innovative idea, some are concerned over how this is tampering nature.

The Instagram video posted by @agrotill has sparked widespread interest. Alen Joseph, a passionate figure in agriculture, introduces the 'Pomato,' a unique outcome of grafting, blending potatoes with tomatoes.

One plant, two vegetables 

As the video gained traction, critics raised doubts about its safety for consumers. One user cautioned against altering nature, fearing detrimental consequences. Another expressed worries about potential health risks associated with such experiments.

A third user highlighted the challenge of energy distribution within the plant, suggesting that yields of both potatoes and tomatoes might be compromised compared to traditional plants.
