Recipe to make orange marmalade at home
- Wash the oranges thoroughly and cut them into halves and squeeze out the juice. Remove and save the seeds.
- Slice the orange peels into desired thickness. Tie the seeds in a cheesecloth or muslin bag.
- Put the sliced peels, orange juice and the tied seeds in a large pot of water and bring it to a boil and then simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until the peels become soft.
- Remove the bag of seeds and discard. Add sugar to the pot and stir well until it completely gets dissolved.
- Bring the mixture to a rapid boil and cook until it reaches the gel stage. Once the marmalade reaches the desired consistency, remove it from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Pour the hot marmalade into clean air-tight glass jars. Store the jars in a cool, dark place, and refrigerate after opening.
