When it comes to gut-healthy foods, probiotic foods top the list but new research suggests that peanuts, herbs and spices in your daily diet may have a positive impact on the gut microbiome.

Published in the journal of Nutrition, researchers examined more than 100 adults with an average age of 45.

They found that peanuts as well as herbs and spices including cinnamon, ginger, cumin, and turmeric increased gut bacteria diversity after just 4-6 weeks of consumption.

In fact, 28g of peanuts and around a teaspoon of herbs and spices may help improve gut health.
